Create in USCB’s New Makerspace
USCB’s new makerspace is a collaborative work space inside the Bluffton campus library
for making, learning, collaborating, exploring and sharing, where students and faculty
can use high-tech to low-tech tools. Through the generosity of the members of the
USCB Education Foundation and Academic Affairs it has been outfitted with:
- 3D printers
- 3D scanner
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- CAD software
- VR headsets
- Podcasting equipment, and more.
Students are excited to explore the maker mindset of creating and following their
own interests — this is the core of a makerspace. The University believes this new
resource will help students develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
Through hands on-learning, makerspaces boost technical skills, increase self-confidence
and foster entrepreneurship.
