Study Computer Science at USCB


University of South Carolina Beaufort’s Department of Computer Science offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in Computational Science (CSCI), a B.S. degree in Information Science and Technology (ISAT), as well as minors in Computer Science and Data Science. To meet growing demand in all industries, USCB offers a concentration in Cybersecurity for students majoring in Information Science and Technology.

What We Offer

 

Minor in Computer Science

Students who are majoring in other disciplines may choose to minor in Computer Science. The required courses to complete a minor in Computer Science are:

  • CSCI B102, B104, or B145 (3 credits)
  • CSCI B211 (3 credits)
  • 1 CSCI course at 200-level (3 credits)
  • 3 CSCI courses at 300+ level (9 credits)

Students are strongly encouraged to consult their advisor before declaring a minor. 

Minor in Data Science

Students who are majoring in other disciplines may choose to minor in Data Science. The required courses to complete a minor in Data Science are:

  • CSCI B145 (3 credits)
  • CSCI B320 (3 credits)
  • MATH B174 (3 credits)
  • MATH B230 (3 credits)
  • STAT B201 (3 credits)
  • 3 credit hours from the following: CSCI B146, MATH B142, or any 300+ level course from CSCI, CSXE, or MATH
