Internships in Studio Art
USCB Studio Art students may participate in internships to extend their learning outside the studio and classroom. An internship is an optional part of the university's art program. Students have worked as artist assistants, in galleries, graphic design firms and agencies.
Undergraduates have completed internships at museums, galleries, nonprofits and artist studios including. These experiences help them build the foundation for a career in the art world, expore academic concepts and career options, and gain practical experience. Some of our interns go on to work within the same organizations in which they interned.
Internship opportunities include:
- Beaufort Arts Council
Since its founding in 1991, the Arts Council of Beaufort County, commonly known as the Beaufort Arts Council, has served the artistic communities in the region. In 2016, as the organization moved out of its offices in downtown Beaufort and refocused the organization’s mission of building an arts district and school changed to focus more on education.
- Dolfin Ventures
USCB students who intern with Jason Loia at Dolfin Ventures learn all about video game and app production at Beaufort Digital Corridor, a space that provides them with resources to foster and express their creativity in a supportive environment.
The Disney internship program is a competitive and artistically skilled driven opportunity that allows students to live in the Disney franchise areas and receive on-site training from Disney professionals relevant to their degree-path.
