I am the Director of the USCB Center for Event Management and Hospitality Training which supports five Centers – the Hilton Head Island Center, the Bluffton Center, the Research Center, the Education Center and the Center for Strategic Planning.  The Hilton Head Island Center’s focus is on the Island Ambassador Program which educates hospitality professionals about the Island ensuring our guests have exceptional experiences, volunteer management placing students in learning environments at local events, event incubation bringing new events to the Island and Quality Management allowing students to learn and evaluate quality standards at local businesses.  The Bluffton Center’s focus is on the Bluffton Ambassador Program showcasing the unique history and qualities of the Bluffton Community.  The Research Center offers hospitality research to local events and organizations.  The Education Center provides up to date information about trending topics and best practices in the hospitality industry.

I teach in the areas of hospitality law and event management. I promote experiential learning in all my classes.  I remain active in the event management field producing over 10 events per year.

Coffey, Esquire.  During the next several years, I filled numerous positions at LCLA in support of its mission of providing free legal representation to the less fortunate as well as serving on its Board of Trustees.
