I joined the University of South Carolina Beaufort faculty in 2006. I teach courses on a wide variety of topics, but one common thread running through all that I teach and write about is the history of law and justice. I am the 2020 recipient of a Carolina Trustees Professorship award and I currently serve on the editorial board for the collection “Historia del derecho en América Latina” (Legal History in Latin America), a book series with the publishing house Tirant Lo Blanch. My most recent published work focuses on historical questions related to Mexico’s system of military justice.
