Internship Opportunities for Psychology Students

Parris Island Internship

USCB’s Psychology program offers optional internship and practicum opportunities in the field of psychology. You'll put your classroom theories to work, follow best-practice guidelines and gain hands-on experience as you practice ethics and professional behavior in a community setting. You will also select personal learning goals specific to your internship.

Interns make connections with potential future employers, learn skills employers want to see and may develop strong references to boost their success upon graduation. Internships for USCB academic credit are usually unpaid.

USCB Psychology students have completed internships at:

  • Hope Performance Systems
  • Hopeful Horizons
  • Wright Directions
  • Volunteers in Medicine
  • BriteLife Recovery Center
  • Memory Matters
  • Brain Balance
  • Coastal Empire Mental Health
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
  • Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Department

“I started out as an undecided major, but after taking Introduction to Psychology I was hooked. The professors in this department all care so much about what they teach and make the material fun and interesting to learn about. I hope to further my education in the Psychology field; at USCB they have classes that allow you to experience different areas of study, as well as engage in discussion with other classmates. I’m so grateful to be a part of this community at USCB!”
