I am an Assistant Professor in the BSN Nursing Program at USCB. I am an accomplished registered nurse with almost 40 years nursing experience! My nursing background includes experience and certifications in orthopedics, medical-surgical nursing, quality and patient safety and leadership. Originally from England, I have nursed in England, Australia, the Middle East (Oman and the UAE), and the US.

With a strong work ethic and a passion for high standards I bring my diverse experience to support and educate BSN nursing students, helping shape the best nurses of the future in this ever changing and challenging healthcare arena.

My doctoral studies focused on Fall prevention, specifically predicting fall prevention variables on a med-surg unit. Other research interests include video-taped versus live pre-briefing in simulation; promoting nursing students critical thinking and clinical judgment with the introduction of mini-skills checkoffs to bridge the gap between clinical, simulation, and classroom learning.

I am an active member of the South Carolina Board of Nursing and I serve in the position of BSN Educator on the South Carolina Bord of Nursing, Advisory Committee on Nursing Education (ACONE). I am an active member of the South Carolina Nurses Association and the National League for Nurses. I am one of five founding members of the Alpha Alpha Omicron chapter of Sigma, at USCB, serving as chapter secretary.

In my spare time I teach and practice yoga and love to travel.
